I specialise in business management for the creative and cultural sectors. My background training is in arts and crafts, where I studied Three Dimensional Crafts (1st Class Hons., 1998) at the University of Brighton. At my degree show, I landed a commission which led me to set up a studio in Brighton, designing and initially making high-end luxury lighting for cafes, bars, restaurants, VIP spaces, gardens and private homes. I ran this business for fourteen years which phased out when I had children. When the kids were very young, I studied an MBA specialising in Creative Industries Management (2010). I was very interested in business management for arts and craft sectors and my research helped develop mentoring techniques and methods. I set up as a freelancer in 2010 specialising in business for arts and crafts sectors, splitting my time around school days. When the kids became more independent, I started my career in full time employment. I now continue the mentoring as a side-line, working with clients on a ad hoc basis.
